They play a major role among the maintenance personnel to keep the aircraft ‘airworthy’ at all times. The Aircraft Maintenance Training (AME) programme conducted by CINEC is based on “EASA” (European Aviation Safety Agency) course syllabus. This course is fully approved by the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL), leading towards an Aircraft Maintenance (Engineers) License, CAASL stipulates 4 years of relevant training and experience followed by passing the AML examination conducted by CAASL. However, if you follow the 2-year AME course at CINEC, then you have to only show and additional 2 years On -The-Job-Training (OJT) work experience with an approved Airline / Aircraft operator.
