Course Description

This course covers the mandatory requirements for the issue of a Certificate of Refresher & Updating for Proficiency in Medical Care as set out in Regulation VI/4, Section A-VI/4, Table A-VI/4-2 of the STCW 1978, as amended.
On successful completion of this course, the participants will acquire the necessary knowledge, understanding and proficiency to attend to any medical emergency on board and be able to provide medical care to the sick and injured while they remain on board and participate in coordinated schemes for medical assistance to ships



Entry Requirements

Participants for this course should :

  • Have followed a course in Proficiency in Proficiency in Medical care under STCW ’95
  • Have a valid medical certificate issued in accordance with STCW Reg. 1/9, Section A-1/9.
