Course Description

This course concentrates more (though certainly not exclusively) on contemporary literature and language use, and will give an insight into relationships ‘from the local to the global’. This involves a broad focus, including everything from regional literature and varieties of English to Anglophone world literature and World Englishes, in subjects such as Shakespeare today, colonial and postcolonial literature, creative writing and English and globalization. Employability is embedded throughout the course, which also includes English for business.Upon completion of this degree, you will receive a qualification awarded by Coventry University.

Entry Requirements

For entry into year 1: Diploma in English
Selection from a placement test followed by an interview
OR
Diploma in English for Professionals
3 passes for A/L + 3 years of working experience
Undergraduates

For entry into year 2: BA (Hons) English Studies

• Completion of the Diploma in English Programme (Full time) or
  Diploma in English for Professionals (Part-time) at NIBM

OR

• The English language requirement is IELTS grade 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.5. in each component and competence to study using the English Language / Credit pass in English at the G.C.E (O/L) exam and a Pass in General English at the G.C.E. (A/L) exam or equivalent.
