Course Description

Practicing as a counsellor requires knowledge in theoretical approaches, skills in counseling and a thorough knowledge of ethical principles involved in counseling practice. Thus, upon successful completion of the programme the participants will be equipped with:

A critical understanding of the body of knowledge and research related to Counselling and   psychological principles.

An ability to review and evaluate the appropriateness and potential value of different approaches, models and techniques for an  effective counselling relationship.

A broad base of knowledge and skills in counselling and related psychological principles that will enable the participants develop a successful career as a counsellor.

Pragmatic guidelines in dealing with ethical issues, boundary issues and referral systems in relation to counselling 

Entry Requirements

• G.C.E. A/L in any stream and a diploma or any other qualification recognized by SLF in relation to Psychology / Counselling or a related field.
