Course Description

Environment constitutes life. Environmental protection, resource conservation, sustainable development and poverty alleviation are integral parts of the agenda of every institution at a global, regional, and national scales.

The BTech degree program in Environmental Technology is designed to provide students with an in depth firm scientific foundation to critically analyze the complex environmental problems so that they can provide effective solutions, and prepare them as future environmental technologists who will face the challenges created by increased urbanization, population growth and ecological degradation. The breadth of the program will provide a strong basis for multi-disciplinary learning. The subject areas in environmental technology, cover the following:

Environmental risk assessment technology

Environmental conservation technology

Green urbanization technology

In addition, a rigorous training in communication & presentation skills, leadership & entrepreneurship skills, technical writing and project management methods are also included. The industry placement offers students with firsthand information on environmental industry and provides them an opportunity and develop contacts with their future employers.

Entry Requirements

The entry requirement is a minimum of 3 ordinary passes (S) in approved subjects in Technology, Physical Science, Biological Science, or ICT stream at GCE A/L Examinations in one and the same sitting and a minimum mark of 30% for the Common General Paper.
