Course Description

BTech in Agri-Technology trains the graduates in modern technologies to create value and sustain the development and performance of the agricultural industry. The four-year program offers graduates with a solid understanding of their role as an agriculture expert with a knowledge in electronics, IT, and telecommunication that will enhance the agri industry, and an understanding of the challenges in these applications.

The program gradually builds from the basics of chemical and biological sciences, mathematics, electronics, IT, and agriculture.

Graduates offer employers the ability to develop, apply and evaluate the most appropriate solutions for optimizing the agriculture industry. They possess a unique combination of agriculture industry scientific knowledge, skills which enable them to utilize digital technologies and values which will see them take ethical, legal and commercial perspectives into account when seeking modern solutions to production, environmental and land-use problems.

This program also offers an option of finishing the last two years at Lincoln University in New Zealand, in a 2+2 agreement, leading to a degree from Lincoln University.

Entry Requirements

The entry requirement is a minimum of 3 ordinary passes (S) in approved subjects in Technology, Physical Science, Biological Science, ICT, or Agriculture stream at GCE A/L Examinations in one and the same sitting and a minimum mark of 30% for the Common General Paper
