Course Description

The fashion industry is a vibrant and challenging business environment. This course will equip you with the strategic decision-making, leadership and problem-solving skills you will need to become an entrepreneurial and visionary fashion business leader of the future. It will also equip you for a business management career in the domestic or international fashion industry. 

The course aims to explore and evaluate new fashion markets, products and trends from a commercial and strategic perspective. It also critically evaluates and debates current issues and methodologies in the fashion industry as well as explores the relation to other creative industries. In addition, it develops leadership and fashion business management knowledge and skills. It teaches the ability to select appropriate business models for implementation and evaluation of change in the fashion industry.

Therefore, MA Fashion Business Management is designed to equip participants for management careers in the fashion industry by delivering an innovative and relevant fashion business curriculum. The course includes the study of fashion business, their management, culture and the changing external environment in which they operate.

The programme focuses on preparing participants to develop into senior roles in business and management within the fashion industry, encouraging the development of strategic and entrepreneurial vision, problem solving ability, business knowledge and skills, finance and risk management, together with improved self-awareness and personal development appropriate to graduate careers in the fashion business.



Entry Requirements

Entry to the course is based on a combination of formal qualifications and significant industry experience. You should have a First or Upper Second Class Honours in your first degree in any subject as well as a minimum of two years working experience in the fashion business or marketing. If you do not have a good first degree, other  qualifications or experience deemed to be equivalent will be considered.

Applicants will also be subjected to an interview.
