This
programme aims to develop competent professional nursing graduates with broad
knowledge, skills and favorable attitudes to provide quality care in every
aspect of nursing practice. It is designed to contribute to the development
of a graduate who will demonstrate a sense of commitment, social and personal
responsibility, and sensitivity and responsiveness to the needs of
others The specific objectives of the programme are to: Enhance knowledge, skills and professional attitudes in relation to the practice of nursing Improve critical thinking abilities to provide a holistic nursing care Develop skills in research Encourage application of teaching & learning concepts to promote health and well-being of the population Improve the ability to apply concepts and skills of leadership and management in the delivery of nursing care Enhance the capacity to communicate and collaborate effectively Facilitate engagement in lifelong learning to advance the nursing education and practice The BSc Honours Degree in Nursing consists of courses at Levels 3, 4, 5 and 6. The total academic value of the courses of the programme is 120 credits comprising 30 credits at each of the Levels. Level 3 & Level 4 are exempted for those who already possess a Diploma in Nursing qualification and therefore required to complete only 60 credits at Levels 5 and 6. |
