The
Programme in Master of Science Degree in Medical Entomology and Applied
Parasitology is designed for biologists,veterinarians and medical personnel
who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in a comprehensive range of
aspects covering Medical Entomology and Parasitology. This programme consists
of a broad range of modules that cater to persons currently engaged or
seeking careers in health-related public and private sectors, research,
academia and for further postgraduate study. The programme is offered once,
every two academic years. The programme is designed to meet the growing need for knowledge and skills development in vector borne disease control and vector control. These areas of study are importance since life threatening vector borne diseases like Dengue, Malaria and JE, still continue to be a major public health concern throughout the world despite all efforts to control their transmission. Objectives of the programme To enable personnel employed in the health sector to obtain specialized knowledge in fields related to vectors, pathogens and their control To expand opportunities for postgraduate studies in the field of Medical Entomology and Applied Parasitology To promote research in areas relevant to Medical Entomology and Applied Parasitology Course units in the study programme |
